Product family of steel and composite slim-floor beams

Nordec Easy Beam product family consist of standardized steel and composite slim-floor beams. We can offer an effective slim-floor beam product for each requirement.

Nordec Easy Beam products are developed to work with a wide range of slab structures, such as hollow-core slabs, massive slabs, filigran slabs, and even with timber slabs. Furthermore there are standardized connection details for steel, composite and concrete columns as well as for concrete walls.

Nordec Easy Beam product family

Nordec’s high quality CE marked (EN1090) beams can be delivered ready painted and with fire protective painting directly from factory. Nordec’s Easy Beam products are mainly fabricated at our factory in Ylivieska, Finland.

WQ Beam

WQ Beam is a welded box steel slim-floor beam that’s not filled with concrete and does hence not affect the drying time of the structure.

CWQ Beam

CWQ beam is a composite beam, with similar cross-section as the WQ beam, forming the composite structure together with the concrete topping as well as the concrete slabs. The CWQ beam is a highly efficient solution when there is structural concrete topping on top of the beam and slabs.

UWQ Beam

UWQ beam, with similar cross-section as the WQ beam, is a composite beam that’s filled with concrete on site, forming the composite structure together with the concrete inside the beam,  the concrete topping and the slabs. The UWQ beam does furthermore not need any separate fire protection.

Center beam

A symmetric box-profile that supports floor slabs on both sides of the beam. Nordec Easy beams can be designed as simple single-span, cantilever and continuous beams.

Design Curves
The design curves are intended for pre-design only. They have been drawn in accordance with the standards EN-1993-1-1, EN1993-1-2, EN1993-1-5 and EN1993-1-12. Pre-elevation of the beams has been used to limit permanent load deflection. Nordec makes the final design taking into account the requirements of each individual project.

The beam height is determined based on the height of the hollow-core slab.

Select the right beam width from the pre- design curves. It is recommended to use the smallest pos- sible beam width which ensures an appropriate resistance.

In this example, the beam WQ32-190 is selected from the curves. The intersection point of the ultimate limit state line load and the span remains below the WQ32 curve.

Edge beam

An asymmetric box-profile that supports floor slabs on one side of the beam. Nordec Easy beams can be designed as simple single-span, cantilever and continuous beams.
