Deliveries for energy sector
In the power plant in Połaniec, Poland, a new biomass fuelled unit is currently under construction. A boiler with the approximate area of 2,500 m2 will reach at the height of almost 67 m.
Ruukki delivered to its customer, Foster Wheeler Energia Polska, steel structures and foundations for the boiler house and auxiliary buildings. Ruukki was also responsible for the design and assembly of structures.
Steel structures in the total amount of 3,600 tonnes were manufactured in Ruukki‘s plant in Oborniki Wlkp., Poland. Ruukki’s steel beams, with the weight of 75 tonnes each, support the world’s largest circulating fluidised bed boiler.
The green block will be operational by the end of 2012, offering the capacity of 190 MW. After the new unit’s start-up, the entire power plant in Połaniec, the biggest one in the southern Poland, will generate annually about 7 TWh of energy, providing deliveries for more than 2,000,000 households.
”We look very closely at every company before working with them. The quality of their products and processes, as well as their financial situation, are all closely examined. Ruukki had already delivered steel products to our subcontractors, which convinced us of their excellence and the fact that they would meet the high quality standards our clients demand.”
