NORDEC, a part of Donges Group, supplies glass facades and architectural roof windows of the new Entrance hall in Helsinki Airport Terminal 2.
Helsinki, September 2020. Helsinki Airport offers fast and smooth connections to Asia and is Northern Europe’s leading transit airport, according to the Finnish airport company Finavia Corporation. The first impression of the new airport Entrance hall sees the technically challenging over 10 meters high glass facade to passengers. The specialty of the facade is its impressive row of over 10 meters tall glass pillars. When entering the Entrance hall, the passenger sees that daylight is coming through the beautiful architectural roof window.
NORDEC, a part of Donges Group, supplies both mentioned unique structures. Glass structures are made with special structural glazing (SG) technique. All the glass is a special structured safety glass that fulfills insulation requirements, heat capacity, soundproofing, and wind pressure. The total amount of facades are approximately 3500 m2 and a remarkable architectural, partly round-shaped rood window.
