Ruukki Building Systems and Normek to merge: the new company will be known as NORDEC
The new company aims to become the leading supplier of frame construction solutions in the Nordic countries
In 2019, the new Nordec had a combined turnover of approximately EUR 190 million and employed some 750 people. The company is headquartered in Helsinki and has production facilities in Alavus, Peräseinäjoki, Naarajärvi, Ylivieska and Oulu, as well as abroad in Poland and Lithuania.
Nordec product portfolio varies from multi- and single storey frame solutions and building envelope solutions till steel bridges. All combined with a huge portfolio of different services from design to production, subcontractor management and installation.
Nordec’s structural solutions are widely used in projects such as shopping centres, retail stores, logistics centres, industrial plants, sports stadiums and cultural institutions. For example, Nordec supplied the steel structures for the Mall of Scandinavia, the largest shopping centre in the Nordics, and the Helsinki Central Library Oodi.
