A facade of a modern logistics centre

Verdion Södertälje Logistics Centre

Nordec has delivered the full structural and façade package for Verdion’s new logistics centre in Södertälje, Sweden. The client was Tommy Allström Byggproduktion AB and the developer was Verdion AB.

The facility provides more than 30 000 m² of logistics space. The location has good road, rail and port connections, with around two million people living within an hour’s travel in the Stockholm region.

The delivery covered the design and construction of the steel frame and concrete elements. It also included the installation of external and internal sandwich wall panels and façade cladding cassettes.

Environmental performance

Sustainability targets guided every stage of the work. A dedicated environmental plan sets requirements for ISO 14001 compliance, safe chemical management, carbon-footprint reporting, responsible waste handling, water protection and biodiversity measures. All site personnel received environmental training. The building itself is designed for high energy efficiency and has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification.

“The Södertälje logistics centre required precise planning and demanding façade work, alongside strict environmental targets. Nordec managed the steel and façade package professionally and helped us stay on schedule while meeting the standards required for BREEAM Excellent certification,” says Tommy Allström, CEO, Tommy Allström Byggproduktion AB.

Full-scope delivery for Nordec Solar Sverige logistics centre Kumla

Nordec’s scope covered the full structural frame from design to installation. The delivery included the steel frame and prefabricated concrete elements. These covered hollow-core slabs, concrete walls, wall panels and staircases. Construction began in spring 2024, and Nordec’s delivery was completed on schedule in 2025.

The project required close coordination with simultaneous groundwork and technical installations.

“Managing structural delivery in parallel with other critical activities called for constant site presence and tight collaboration with the main contractor. Our cooperation with NA Bygg has worked well throughout the project”, says Sampo Haapoja, Business Area Manager at Nordec Oy.

Delivered under a partnering model, the project benefited from early joint planning and open communication between Nordec and NA Bygg. This approach allowed steady progress and quick responses to site requirements.
