Nordec Group Oy press release 19.02.2026 09.30

Nordec has been awarded a contract to deliver the engineering, manufacturing and installation of the steel frame for the new Arctic Arena in Bodø, Norway. The delivery is part of a contract with Jaro AS, with Consto acting as the main contractor. Developed by FK Bodø Glimt, the approximately 10,000-seat multi-purpose stadium is designed for football and events.

The Arctic Arena is one of the northernmost stadium projects in Europe and a significant investment for the Bodø region. The venue is intended for year-round activity and will serve sports and other events.

Nordec’s delivery covers the arena’s main load-bearing steel structures, including coordination of the steel frame solution and the primary steel structures supporting the roof, façade and spectator areas. Production is mainly carried out at Nordec factories, followed by coordinated assembly on-site in Bodø. Quality and safety management are integrated throughout all phases of the delivery. Environmental Product Declarations are available for the steel products supplied by Nordec, providing verified information on the environmental performance of the materials used.

“Nordec was a natural choice for us at Jaro AS when selecting the steel supplier for Arctic Arena. Their strong technical expertise and proven quality were decisive factors in our decision.

From the very start of the project, Nordec has demonstrated strong commitment and an impressive ability to collaborate. We are confident that this partnership will result in a final product of the highest standard, a project we can both be proud of.”

Ole Marius Thomassen, Managing Director, Jaro AS

The architectural concept features a diamond-inspired exterior with geometrically arranged roof and façade elements and flexible interior spaces designed to adapt to different types of events. The project is scheduled for completion in early autumn 2027.

A 11-storey high modern hotel building

Nordec responsible for structural frame for 11-storey hotel in Tromsø

Nordec Group Oy press release 18.9.2025 08.15 UTC+3

Nordec Group has been contracted by HENT to design, manufacture and install the structural frame for the Mack Øst hotel project in Tromsø, Norway. The development includes a new 11-storey hotel in the city centre, connected to the former Mack Brewery. The brewery building will be structurally reinforced to support the new structures and enable potential future expansion.

Nordec’s delivery covers the entire structural frame from design to installation. The scope includes structural steel components and composite columns together with concrete walls, slabs and stairs. Installation of prefabricated bathroom modules is also part of the delivery.

Work begins with modifications to the existing brewery and continues with the erection of the new hotel structures. The central city block location requires careful planning and coordination, with limited space for logistics and parallel works inside the existing building.

“This project combines modern construction with the challenges of integrating new structures into an existing building,” says Mårten West, Business Area Manager at Nordec. “We are pleased to support HENT in realising this development in one of the northernmost urban areas in Europe.”

The project continues Nordec’s involvement in construction projects in Northern Norway, where both urban constraints and local weather conditions set specific requirements.

Tourism in Tromsø has been growing steadily, creating demand for additional accommodation. The Mack Øst hotel, located in the city centre, will provide approximately 350 rooms while preserving part of the city’s brewing heritage.

The project will continue into 2026.

Nordec Group Oy press release 12.6.2025 08.15 UTC+3

Nordec has been selected to design, manufacture and install the structural frame for the new Spektrumkvarteret project in central Oslo. Spektrumkvarteret consists of a 108.4-meter, 27-story office tower and adjacent congress building at Sonja Henies plass, being developed by construction firm HENT AS with LPO as the architect.

The contract involves the creation of a prefabricated steel-concrete structure. Concrete elements will include 1,450 square meters of walls in the congress building and 30,000 square meters of combined hollow-core and massive slabs throughout the complex. Nordec’s scope includes full-height stairwells in the tower and multiple staircases in the congress building.

Notable engineering aspects of the project include composite columns, welded beams, and a cantilever section extending over the street. Installation work is scheduled to begin in February 2026 with completion targeted for October 2026.

Nordec’s Senior Vice President Minna Kuusela-Opas comments:
